“With great power, comes great responsibility” – Spiderman!

spidermanWell to be honest I’m not a fan of comics, so I don’t really have a favourite superhero. Although if I had to choose one, I would have to say that I like Spiderman. Since I watched the movie when I was little, I fell in love on how brave and courageous he is. Spiderman is generally known as ‘Spiderman’ but his actual name is Peter Parker, which is his secret identity. Just like all the other superheros, like Batman’s real name is Bruce Wayne and Superman’s real name is Clark Kent.

I’m sure that we all know that Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider as a teenager, giving him spider-like powers. After the death of his Uncle Ben, which he could have prevented, Peter learned that “with great power, comes great responsibility.” Promising to always protect the innocent from harm, Peter became the Amazing Spider-Man! “With great power, comes great responsibility” meaning if you’re put in a position of having a lot of power, you also have a lot more responsibility than a person who is not so powerful.

Why do I like Spiderman, what’s so different to him from all the other superheros? Well Peter has faced at least one problem which some readers, viewers and fans can relate to. Despite all of the tragedy in his life, Spiderman picks himself up and carries on fighting. Even though he may make some mistakes and screw up, Spiderman is dedicated to doing the right thing again and again. That’s what makes him an iconic superhero in which somebody can relate and look up to. My other attraction to Spiderman is the fact that I can personally relate to him on a human level when he is his persona of Spiderman and Peter Parker. Peter Parker also known as Spider Man is a true, honest and loyal friend which I value and respect.

Spiderman has many superpowers in which help him achieve his goals. Some include superhuman strength, he can cling to walls, can shoot webs from his hands, his spider-sense alerts him to danger and as well as many other powers. I love Spiderman’s costume, the red and blue skin tight costume with plastic lenses for his eyes, white web pattern all over and the black spider on his chest. Well to be honest, I HATE spiders! They’re my biggest fear, but I must admit I really do still love Spiderman. Peter Parker has an everyday job which is a photographer for the newspaper. The journalists working for the newspaper want to see photos of Spiderman, so basically all Peter Parker has to do is take photos of himself since Spiderman is Peter Parker’s secret identity.

Overall, Spiderman is my favourite superhero since he is so brave and a lot of people look up to him. I loved the first Spiderman movie when I was younger and I still do. Spiderman is so dedicated to succeed his goal in protecting innocent people from harm, and I really do look up to him since no matter how many times he makes a mistake he never backs down and he just keeps fighting. Whenever there is some sort of danger occurring, you will always see Spiderman swinging on his web coming to protect you!
