For a few of us, we’ve only met you earlier this year. For most of us, we’ve known you since the beginning of our high school lives.
Today is the last day of school for 2014, and on this day, 8 English 01’s teacher Ms. Edwards is leaving Bossley. I’m pretty sure that the majority, if not all, our class members are really going to miss her.
Ms. Edwards, this might not just apply to me, and I may have said this before, but you are one of the best teachers any high school kid could ever ask for. You’re always putting your students before yourself. That time you let us run around all of A block and tag each other and probably brawl it out in front of the library, you were willing to take the blame and get in trouble. Not all teachers do that.
Also, you made class fun. We didn’t always put on music or play games throughout the whole year; we learned, and in most of your classes, you made learning seem like a good thing. You added your own twists to the curriculum and even took in some of our ideas. It was a lot better that way, to change a few things and make it more interesting.
It honestly won’t be the same without you in later years. Sounds cliche, I know. But it’s true. I’m not usually comfortable with teachers at all, even in primary school, but I enjoy it when I’m in your class. You properly read and critique my stories and help make my writing improve.
So, hopefully, you enjoy working as Head Teacher for English at your new school (and good luck to your kids for when they begin school as well!). You’ll be missed by us, your (best ever) Year 8 class!
