Welcome to a new term. To start this term, we’re delving into the wonderful world of genres. We’ll investigate what genres really are, how a text fits into a genre and what elements we need to look for when identifying genre. We’ll explore through reading, viewing and writing in different genres, and we’ll experiment to see what happens when genres blend and change.
For this fortnight’s journal, everyone wrote a quote or a piece of dialogue on a piece of paper. We put everyone’s ideas into a bucket and then everyone picked out someone else’s thought. You need to integrate that quote into a piece of writing.
As always, this task should be between 400 – 500 words and is due to be uploaded by Thursday 30th July. Have fun and happy writing!
